[ARCHIVED] Career Opportunity - Seasonal Highway Equipment Operator

The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Seasonal Highway Equipment Operator. This position will primarily operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, involving plowing, salting and sanding roads in winter, and assisting in general highway maintenance and construction work in other seasons, with a focus on operation of basic to moderately complex trucks and equipment, as well as manual labor.

Minimum qualifications include: Basic education (high school) plus 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Shall have a good driving record and driving skills. Some relevant previous experience driving trucks and/or operating light to heavy equipment. Shall have good basic mechanical skills. Some experience or training in vehicle mechanics helpful.

A combination of skills and experience demonstrating the above requirements may be considered. Must possess or be able to obtain a CDL License. The Town of Hartford is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
