All interested Hartford residents are invited to apply by submitting a letter of intent and completed Boards and Commissions Application to Lana Livingston at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Thursday June 10th, at 5:00 PM. Applicants should be available for an interview during an evening the week June 21st though the 25th. The exact day and time are to be determined based on mutual availability of the candidates and the Board. The Board will interview candidates as part of an open session, meet privately to discuss, and then return to the public session for voting and appointment.
The Selectboard, pursuant to 24 V.S.A. § 963, will make two appointments to fill this vacancies at a Special Meeting the week of June 21, 2021.
Pursuant to titles 17 V.S.A. § 2643 and 24 V.S.A. § 963, citizens have the right to call for a vote to replace the Selectboard’s appointee at a special Town Meeting by submitting a petition to this effect to the Town Clerk signed by 5% of Hartford Voters. If a special town meeting is called, the newly elected Selectboard Member will remain in office until this Special Town Meeting takes place.
