The Town of Hartford Planning Commission and staff have been considering adding residential uses to the area currently zoned as Industrial/Commercial (IC) on the east side of Route 5 near the intersection of Route 4 & 5 and changing the designation to "Highway Commercial/Residential (HCR)." The proposed HCR zoning district would make single-unit dwellings, two-unit dwellings, multi-unit dwellings and mixed-use (residential and commercial development) conditional uses. Other proposed changes include moving some permitted uses to the conditional use side or eliminating the use all together making the district more like the Highway Commercial zoning district.
