[ARCHIVED] BUY LOCAL VERMONT PROGRAM FOR BUSINESSES

Vermont Agency of Commerce and Development has just launched the new Buy Local Vermont Gift Card Program.  It is intended to bring needed foot traffic and increase sales for local restaurants, retail stores, entertainment and performing arts venues, lodging and tourism-related businesses.  Businesses can enrol to take part in the program starting today (8/27).

The Buy Local Vermont Gift Card Program will launch to consumers on September 8th when consumers can obtain free gift cards (usually $30) and for businesses matching the consumer’s interest. The state is doing lots of publicity to reach a broad cross-section of businesses and consumers across the state.

You must be a VT business - store, or on-line, or artist with studio in your home, etc. - many different types and uses.  Sign-up is already going on so get on-line soon - should take less than five minutes.  If you have any problems, there are emails and contact information on the website.  Flyers to publicize your participation to consumers are coming out soon.

Also, think about this as an opportunity to market your business with pictures, logos, images to include with your sign-up.

PLEASE SHARE THE INFORMATION WITH OTHER BUSINESSES SO WE GET THE FOOT TRAFFIC IN OUR COMMUNITY, WHICH SUPPORTS EVERYONE.

Let Lori Hirshfield, Director-Planning & Development Services, when you have registered so we can help publicize your participation.  She can be reached by email lhirshfield@hartford-vt.org or by phone (802) 295-3075.  You may contact her if you have issues or questions.
