More Information:
Come explore the northeast third of the 423 acre Hartford Town Forest with Windsor - Orange County Forester A.J. Follensbee and the Hartford Conservation Commission. AJ has been collecting information about the forest and is making a plan for treatments to increase diversity and resilience considering climate change while contributing to our recreation enjoyment and wood uses. An educational goal is a community forest that serves as a continuing example of how private landowners may manage their own properties. We will spend time identifying trees, checking out animal signs, discussing forest ecology & stewardship. If you want to try out your map & compass skills, GPS or camera, bring them along. Dress for the weather and snow conditions and bring water.
Level of Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
Directions: Route 4 to Center of Town Road, turn onto Kings Highway. Turn right onto Reservoir Road. Trailhead parking area is at the end of the road. For more information, contact Hartford Conservation Commission Member Jon Bouton; jon.bouton@comcast.net or 296-2969.
