As part of the Community Resilience Organization of Hartford's Resilience U series, there will be multiple projects organized by Hartford residents around town on 8/25. Hartford residents are encouraged to stop by any project and meet some new neighbors while doing important community work.

White River Community Garden, Ratcliffe Park, Latham Works Lane: Work Day and Blueberry Planting

Maxfield Sports Complex, Route 5 South: Tree Health

We all know Maxfield Sports Complex as home to playing fields, a walking and jogging path, tennis courts, and other incredible recreation spaces. But did you know there are also trees there? These trees need some help to thrive - their roots are being damaged and many are overrun by weeds. Volunteers will be gathering at Maxfield from 10:00 a.m. until noon to help improve the health of the trees at the Sports Complex. Contact Jon at to join in!

Cemetery Clean Up, Old Poor Farm Cemetery off Old River Road

Help revive our town's most historic cemetery, which dates back to the mid-1800's and has about 20 burials. Volunteers will be cutting trees and raking and blowing leaves carefully to ensure the monuments can withstand the next 200 years. Meet at the West Hartford Library at 8:30 am. Contact Art at to get more information.

West Hartford: Apple Tree Guild Planting at Wild Water Farm 87 Joe Ranger Road
