Hartford Vermont Appoints Scott Cooney Fire Chief.

Effective Sunday, July 17, 2016, Town of Hartford Interim Fire Chief Scott Cooney will assume duties and responsibilities as the Permanent Fire Chief. Chief Cooney has served as the Interim Fire Chief since September of 2015. In that capacity, he has done a tremendous job for the citizens of Hartford and for many others throughout the Upper Valley. Chief Cooney has provided strong leadership and stability throughout his tenure as the Interim Fire Chief. A member of the Hartford Fire Department since 1995 and a resident and homeowner in Hartford since 2000, Chief Cooney knows the Town and its citizens. We are excited for him, the Department and the Town of Hartford. This appointment, made by the Town Manager, Leo Pullar, in accordance with the authority granted him in the Town Charter, is made based on his outstanding potential to continue to serve the Town at a very high level.
