2023 Old River Road Drainage Improvements

Construction Begins August 31, 2023 - Road Closure Between 5133 Old River Road to the Quechee West Hartford Road, Construction to last 6 working days.

Drainage improvements along Old River Road just south of Quechee West Hartford Road are planned for the summer of 2023. These improvements consist of stone-lined ditching, underdrain, culvert replacement, stone-lined outlets, and level spreaders. These Best Management Practices (BMPs) are being implemented in accordance with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Municipal Roads General Permit (MRGP). This work will be followed up with grading by the highway department and the re-installation of guard rails from our contracted services budget.

The town received a grant implemented by the Northwest Regional Planning Commission that funded an Engineering Study by Dubois and King of Randolph, Vermont. This study provided a mixture of conservative options for the town to choose from.
